OPPA KFC: LOVE IN EVERY BITE

At OPPA KFC, we believe sharing great food is a love language all its own. And there’s no better way to express that love than through our crispy, crunchy, flavorful, hand-battered, and double-fried chicken.

Our journey began in 2014 when Phi Vu, a self-proclaimed fried chicken connoisseur, first tasted this incredible dish while visiting NYC. Unfortunately, upon returning home to New Orleans, there were no places that served Korean fried chicken. So, he set out to recreate the dish—but it took years of countless trials, tweaking, and testing to perfect the recipe. During this time, the only opportunities Phi had to enjoy good Korean fried chicken were during trips to places like LA, NYC, and Atlanta. Eventually, he realized he needed to bring Korean fried chicken to NOLA—because food this good has to be shared. That’s when the dream of sharing his version of Korean fried chicken with the world was born.

Once Phi was confident in his creation, he started hosting small pop-ups in the back of a bar, participating in food festivals, and bringing his beloved chicken to every corner of the city. Every step of the way, the dream felt more real—and more delicious—than ever.

In the next chapter of OPPA KFC’s story, Dylan Heidingsfelder joined as a business partner, recognizing the potential of the brand and helping to elevate it to new heights. With his blend of passion and business expertise complementing Phi’s culinary vision, the two have worked tirelessly to build OPPA KFC into what it is today—a destination for flavor, love, and the best Korean fried chicken in New Orleans.

Now, with its very own brick-and-mortar location, OPPA KFC continues to thrive. We take pride in every piece of chicken we serve, ensuring that every bite is packed with love, flavor, and the same dedication that has driven our journey.
